Developing Diverse Teams

Cultural competence is the ability to interact effectively with people from different cultures. This ability depends on awareness of one's own cultural worldview and knowledge of the worldviews and cultural practices of others. It also requires a tolerant attitude towards cultural differences, and cross-cultural skills.

Businesses need teams that are culturally competent and confident as ideas and new ways of doing business can arise from culturally diverse teams.

Yet working across multi-cultural team can be challenging. Inclusive employers will want to develop their staff to overcome any perceived international cultural barriers that may impede success.

This highly interactive and experiential workshop can help your teams acquire a culture-general framework of knowledge that helps them to understand other world views and see the world from other's perspectives.

It examines the impact of in/out groups on an organisation's effectiveness and how and why difference can be seen in negative terms. It explores the dynamics of teams and formulates practical strategies to increase empathic behaviours and improve communication.
